"Nugget"

(Gayfield's The Thief  x Smoke Tree Lure of the Gold)

 Welsh Section B palomino

      13.2hh ~ 1st May 2004

Nugget being ridden by USDF Gold Medal winner Patty Russell of Canter Lane Dressage

Smoke Tree Gold Fever (Nugget) has definitely exceeded our expectations. He won his one and only in-hand class at his first Welsh show as a yearling, and we had only been his owners  for 4 months.  His pedigree is totally top drawer, a true "who's who" in classy Welsh pony breeding carrying names with famous prefixes such as GAYFIELD'S, COED COCH, RAMBUR, BROOKHALL, COTTRELL and of course SMOKE TREE.

He is a wonderfully elegant pony blessed with loads of bone, short cannons, correct and elegant movement, powerful shoulders and hip, an elegant neck and top line capped with a BEAUTIFUL slightly dished head and large soft eyes.  To top it all his temperament is outstanding.

He is proving himself not only in the breeding shed with the lovely foals he is siring but also in the dressage arena where his temperament shines through; exhibiting a truly honest work ethic.

His semen ships very well, all mares that were bred to him in 2006 were pronounced pregnant on the first or second cycle.  Once you have committed to breeding your mare to our boy then so are we committed to you totally 100%.  We will do our absolute best to see you get that foal of your dreams.  We are quite easy to get a hold of and we respond to messages and e-mails quickly and professionally.

Please visit the "breeding info" page for loads more photos and stud fee/contract information.

Nugget is now officially a daddy!!  His first foal (barn name is Roxy) arrived on Monday morning (April 9th '07) out of our own Welsh mare Chloe a healthy, robust, CUTE and friendly little bay filly.  She has three long white stockings and a wide white blaze and belly spot.  We are thrilled to bits.

For more foal pictures of Roxy and other Nugget babies please go to the  FOALS PAGE.

NEWSFLASH!!

Nugget's daughter, Firefly, scored a whopping 8.5 at her RPSI inspection on the 18th August 2007.  This is what her owner Ann Daum has to say about the inspection.

" You will be very pleased to know that Firefly scored EXTREMELY well at the keuring yesterday … the judges loved her and her overall score was a really impressive 8.5 for a Gold Premium.  She was the highest scoring foal of the day!!  She is a gorgeous mover, and that along with her exquisite type just really made for a high score."
